Amerigroup CHIP Program Issued in Area But Not Accepted By Any Providers
on February 24, 2011 at 9:09 pmI recently applied for Amerigroup Community Care. My son and grandchild are covered by medicaid. I also applied for medicaid . I have been a legal Texas resident for 12 years. I am a student and single mom and I have been approved for a “chip perinatal program”. I have called several doctors Arlington, Texas but I can’t get an appointment because they don’t take this insurance.
I am 3 months pregnat and it’s time to see a doctor. I am a student and I want to have the baby in The Medical Center or Memorial in Arlington. I am unsure as to why I was not approved for medicaid. I should have the same rights as everyone else.
Please help me I am frustrated and need help dealing with this situation. I need to find a good doctor here in Arlington. I can’t wait anymore.

I was sorry to read about the difficult time you are having in finding a solution. I did some research on your behalf and found a few items that might ease your frustration.
First, the only hospital covered by this program is in Fort Worth. There are 3 providers in the Arlington area and they are all OB/GYN Nurse Practitioners. Their information is listed below along with links to two guides that you should’ve been provided with at the time of your approval.

Dear Editor,
Could you please find me a doctor who accepts chip prenatal as well? I am living in Fort Worth and having the same problem as Griselda Sigaran! I need a doctor in Fort Worth, not in Arlington! I called all of the close providers, none of them accepts amerigroup chip prenatal!
