Cotton States denying hail damage
on June 4, 2011 at 9:28 amI had a roofer come by and inspect my home for hail damage, and he showed me the many pits in my shingles. So I called my insurance company (Cotton States) and they sent a roofer named Larry Crawford to inspect the roof. Larry came out said that there was no hail damage.
So I requested another independent inspection from another company and they showed me the damage as well. So I called Cotton States Insurance and Larry Crawford again, and they sent an engineer from Rimkus Engineering [Phil]. On 5/31/11, he and a roofer went on my roof. The roofer pointed out the damage and Phil said he just did not see it.
I know that the houses around me had or are having their roofs replaced due to the hail damage that occurred on 3/27/11. So why is Cotton States trying so hard to deny the claim of a paying customer?

Hello Ray. Sorry to hear about your situation.
I don’t understand why Cotton States would send an engineer to do a roofers job. Maybe they thought someone with a degree looking at your roof would be more intimidating and make you leave it alone.
It is sad that they would foot the bill to have an engineer go to your home when that money could go toward fixing peoples damaged roofs.
I would get statements from the two roofers who showed you the damage and file a claim against Cotton States with the Alabama Department of Insurance- http://www.aldoi.gov/
