Billing Problems With Fortis Insurance
on November 11, 2010 at 2:33 pmWe bought a policy thru a private agent. Fortis will only accept payments by “DIRECT WITHDRAWL”. So, we gave them our checking information and explained that we would be changing banks soon. We sent in the new info when we opened our new account and they started deducting from there. However, at the same time they were trying to deduct from the previous account too. They were being sent back NSF and we were being charged a fee every time they did this. They can’t seem to understand the concept of changing banks. We were sent to Telecheck for outstanding unpaid balance and they tried to cancel our policy. The insurance seems to be good, but don’t change banks WHATEVER you do.
