Gainsco Insurance Adjuster Complaint
on January 28, 2011 at 1:58 pmMy vehicle was hit in a grocery store parkling lot on 11/11/2010 by a Gainsco customer who backed into me. I called Gainsco to report my claim and was assigned an Adjuster.
The Adjuster called me 1 time but I was unable to talk to her because the appraiser had showed up at the same time. I asked her if I could call her back. She said that she would call me back in 30 minutes. She never called me back. 3 weeks later someone who was assisting her called to take my statement and told me the adjuster would look at it and make a decision on liability. The same assistant called back 30 minutes later to say that they accepted liability and took the information for the body shop I wanted to use.
It took another month to get ahold of someone to give me information on getting a rental car. Finally more than 2 months later (due to no communication from the Adjuster) I took my car to the dealership where I was told Gainsco was only paying for 90% of the damage and I would be responsible for the other 10%!
Gainsco initially approved 3 days for the rental car. My car took 7 days to complete due to additional damage found after they took it apart. Gainsco approved 2 of the additional days that I needed to keep the rental. However, they disapproved the last 2 days. So, the rental company kept my deposit because they said they received a denial from Gainsco for the 2 additional days.
I called Gainsco (knowing I probably wouldn’t get an answer or a return phone call) to inquire about why the rental was denied. I got a live body on the phone & told him not to transfer me to the adjuster because I wouldnt get a resolution from her. He placed me on hold to locate her supervisor. I guess he couldnt locate him because he transferred me to her anyway. And guess what? I got her voicemail…again! Which is the only thing I got the 2 months I tried contacting her.
Bottom line, Gainsco is not an insurance company that I want to deal with ever again! I will avoid them at all costs and I will tell everyone I know not to buy insurance policies of any kind from them. I was very dissatisfied with them.

Supervisor Misty Meagdow does not have any customer service experience at all. when i called Gainsco Auto Insurance to check on an existing claim, she spoke with me briefly and became firm with her answer and as i was asking her what is the length of time that it normaly takes based on her experience. She became irritable and started raising her tone at me and I at no time raised mine, but was calm. I asked her to please hold a business conversation, and stated that I was simply following up. I made her aware that i was new at the office and just wanted to know why it has been over 3 months and the claim is still under investigation.
As a Claims processor here at Dallas Paint And Body I will make sure that i let my current and former clients know about this insurance company, as they tend to prolong matters and do not expedite anything. The least they could and should do is offer good customer service.
