Hospital Billed Insurance Wrong, Now I Have To Pay
on November 11, 2010 at 2:36 pmMy daughter was in the NICU for 6 months after birth due to many health issues. The hospital was responsible for submitting to insurance on a daily basis. One day that was submitted was incorrectly entered. However, they didn’t notify the hospital or myself. They just didn’t pay! So, 60 days after my daughter was released from the NICU, I received a bill for $5000 for a single day. I called the hospital and asked them about it and they told me they had resubmitted it and insurance refused to pay. So, upon calling AETNA, I learned that it had gone past the allowed time for filing a claim. I explained that the hospital had filed earlier and had not received payment or a response. I was informed that there was nothing they could do and that the bill was now my responsibility. They will do ANYTHING to avoid paying medical claims! They are crooks!!!!
