Insurance Complaints

My husband and I were on the 3rd day of our honeymoon when a woman ran a red light after dropping her cell phone and leaning over to pick it up. She totaled our car (our wedding gift from my parents) and we were left stranded 6 hours from home. Our nightmare was just beginning with the accident itself. We were young and Progressive only wanted to give us a rental car if we gave the company our credit card. We were both young and didn’t have a major credit card yet. So, we spent 5 hours in a dirty tow company office waiting for someone to decide if they would leave us stranded or not. After all this time, we were given a rental car, but told we had to have it back by the next weekend (another 6 hour trip returning it). That also meant we had to find another car in a week. So, we were pushed by the company that entire week to settle, settle, settle. So, we did. However, when they gave us the insurance check, they did it as a draft. That means our bank put a hold on it until it hit the insurance company’s bank and got approval. So, we had no money, no car and had to return the rental. Thank God for my parents. THANK GOD I DON’T HAVE PROGRESSIVE!!!!!!!!!
